In 2001 my mom passed away from ovarian cancer. In her memory, I started making teal beaded jewelry in 2008. Since then, I have been a vendor for many run/walks, supporting three ovarian cancer organizations. I use this blog to display my pieces between events and chronicle what I do to raise ovarian cancer awareness.

Hello again!
Two years was a long time to be away from Teal4MyMom! But I'm back. I just vendored the Ovar'Coming Run/Walk today. I decided to ease back in and only do one event this year. I needed to know if this was something I could do again, now that I have my son (thus, the reason for the two year break). I think it is doable, and I did a good job of managing my time and being prepared for the event today. I was even able to downsize the bags I brought to the event!
I will be doing a thank you list for the 2012 run/walk (did I seriously drop the ball on that? Oh geez.) and 2013 run/walks that I didn't get around to...I was pregnant at that time and hadn't made it public yet, so I was more than a little exhausted and preoccupied. I will also be doing a thank you list for this year's run/walk.
In addition, the pictures of the jewelry desperately need to be updated. Desperately. I will be doing that soon. In that vein, you may have noticed that some categories of jewelry pieces are gone, such as book thongs and zipper pulls. I made the executive decision to discontinue those. They were not selling well and I needed to refocus my efforts. I will be adding headbands and hairties, which were very popular at the run/walk today!
I will post an update blog once those pictures are done. In the meantime, here is a picture of my husband and my son being models for paracord bracelets I made them. <3
Thank you for all your support to promote ovarian cancer awareness!
